Health and Beauty
The healthcare industry regularly uses barcodes to capture critical information for tracking patients and testing samples. These barcodes require TTR printing that is abrasion and solvent resistant. Cosmetics, such as perfume and lipstick, are often packaged in chipboard boxes. They need reliable thermal transfer printing of important information such as date, manufacturer and lot codes.

DNP Resin Perfect For Nutritional Company's Labeling Needs
A reseller located in the Northeast of USA was working with a large nutritional company to replace flexo printing with a better print-on-demand system. The application required generating short-run labels for thousands of product SKU's in 10 different languages. It had become increasingly necessary for the end user to find a new print method due to FDA regulations and restrictions for labeling products and packaging in the nutritional industry. The reseller, realizing the limitations of flexo printing and the need to print on demand to keep in accordance with these regulations, began researching the benefits of thermal transfer printing.
The application required a high level of abrasion resistance from a ribbon that could print on a multi-colored paper label over-laminated with polypropylene. The reseller immediately knew this was a difficult requirement and quickly approached us for help with the testing of a range of DNP resin products and two other ribbon manufacturers.
DNP's R300 General Purpose Resin ribbon was demonstrated to easily outperform the competition. R300 printed at dramatically lower energy settings while producing a crisp, dense image across all three colors of the prime label. In addition, R300 printed at a higher speed than all other ribbons tested.
We are pleased to confirm that all DNP supplied thermal transfer materials comply to the prevailing EU standards for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (ROHS) as well as other global regulations (such as from Indonesia, US, China, Japan, etc.) for environmental safety and protection.
