Thermal Transfer Overprinter (TTO)
Widely known for coding on a variety of substrates such as plastic films, flat packaging, label stock, plastic, and foil.
What is Thermal Transfer Overprinter (TTO) ?
Thermal Transfer Overprinting (TTO) is a printing process that applies a code to a flexible film or label. Thermal Transfer Overprinting (TTO) uses a thermal printhead and thermal transfer ribbon. The coloured ink in the ribbon is transferred onto the printing material in the specified target area to produce a code. Therefore choosing the right Thermal Transfer Ribbon (TTO) ribbon will not only effect the print quality, but also could increase your printhead lifespan.
Different materials of TTO Ribbon?
At S&K Asia, we provide Thermal Transfer Overprinter (TTO) ribbon with 2 different materials: Resin and Wax/Resin. The different types of ribbons have a different print sensitivity. This means they transfer ink at different temperatures of the printhead. Higher resin content results in higher print temperature which makes the printing more durable on the packaging film.
